So after not really doing much over the weekend (apart from a leg of lamb, 1.5 kilo of pork shoulder and a chicken bhuna - I bought a slow cooker so I don't eat rubbish while I'm at the unit), I had a really crap day at work so I took my frustration out on the car and finally got through it to just leave the panels (ish) - finally I can start properly stripping mine down to the bare shell to see what I actually need!

Next stop, buy a spit

That's a big question mate! I'm setting myself small deadlines, I want it to be prepped for paint by march / April, which means getting all the welding done and testing fitting the engine, so back in and out again. Obviously still working full-time and life getting in the way! We shall see…

Been a busy season of drinking and hangovers so not been the unit much, went down last night and cut / ripped the roof to bits (because it was fun more than anything) and then removed it.

Gonna head back down today and continue the stripping - hopefully I'm not gonna keep finding rust or what I've just found, the passenger side chassis rail has a lovely bump in it! Can't wait to change that, gonna be fun!

Went down for a few hours, so bloody cold! Stripped all the glass / mechanism's out, found loads of dodgy wiring, the central locking had been ran really nicely but then soldered with a heroin addicts kit!

Back down tomorrow, gonna make a start on the bay next, engine is out is the just exhaust, brake servo, steering rack etc

But today I'm gonna take a walk up mam tor in the peak district while slow cooking some beef, gotta have one day off right?

Haha yeah I can imagine it's a bit colder there! But you've seen me, I have zero padding to hold any heat!

Also I keep meaning to reply to your message but as you can tell I've not been on much, it needs me to sit at a computer, back to work tueaday so I'll do it then - sorry it's taken so long, I'm a bad man!

Need a nice blow heater and some butane

Problem is it's an old cattle shed, so asbestos walls / roof and triple height, also about as air tight as a collender, just be a massive waste of money!

Needs must, my unit has a high roof but warm is good lol

Got a bit more done today, had a lazy Monday lie in though, because why the hell not… Got to the unit about 2pm, oops!

Stripped most of the bay down, cheesed the nut on one of the control arm ends so took that as a sign and went for sausage and chips

Progress is progress though right

You better make a trailer out of that rear cut of the parts car haha!

Why do we do these things!    

Only just seen your post borednow ! I have no idea!

I've been crazy busy with work the last few months so haven't had a lot of time (and it's been bloody cold!).

Last time I went down the unit to work, I tried to undo the nut that holds the track rod end ball joint in place and fired half a bolt extractor across the workshop, so went home and opened a beer… or 7.. I'll be back on it soon!
