Its a shame you cant put your finger on the running issue, back in the day that car was very rapid!  You'll get there with it I'm sure.

The cars running fine now after the two session of rolling road and a bucket load of cash 😡

The cars never made nowhere near this power before as the 380cc injectors couldn't possibly do it, infact even now with the sytec race pump and green gaint 440cc injectors they are very nearly at the limit to make 257.

The next stage would be a beach buggy hydrid turbo which can run 300-310 bhp then the next stage injectors up but putting down the 260 is hard enough plus there will be more lag.

So plans now are to get rid of the scary handling and then fit some good spec coilovers so it's useable power.

Yeah very strange one for the boot seal, I was going to film it but didn't know if I could upload it on here as I don't have a YouTube account either.

Thanks for the site 👏👏

Next jobs

Suspension and steering rack getting ordered tommorow from Classic vw 😜

Two things I need to know.

1) The procedure or changing and setting up the new steering rack (on the look out for a brown Haynes manual)

2) A measurement from the wheel arch to the centre of a wheel on a standard gti for the front and back so I've got a reference point for setting suspension up.

If not I'll be tempted to spin the platform adjusters to the bottom 😳

Thanks for the nod on the wheels. Even though you'll never understand what a PAIN masking those bloody wheels out were, but if a jobs worth doing I'll have to do it right(ocd)!

Dont try this at home though folks, I purchased some specialist clear coat from my paint supplier. The product has etch quality to the paint. Otherwise first clean of the alloys the paint will start delaminating.
Although saying that, I think Daz may have some spare clear coat left.

Rear panel was a relative walk in the park though compared to the wheels

You've only another year to go too Daz before I keep my promise, full resto on the cards next winter 😎

Could do next sat morning as I'm not working ?

Another decision to make.

My boot is currently plain, no black sticker around the rear window and no badges.

So what's the opinions on keeping the look or putting badges and black sticker trim on?

I was going to leave it as it is but seen a few with them on makes it look more standard. Mine does have the zender top spoiler on which may change the look.

Depends how original you want it I guess.

I'm a bit of a standard geek so would go for badges and sticker

Yeah I'm going for original look but with the 20vt engine.

I wasn't sure if the zender parts took it away from been standard.

No I think Zender should look period correct ;)

The new suspension turned up other week so today is the day👍

Got it all changed in quick time and no issues. (Well needs a new cv boot)

Then the f**king money pit bites again, it's not happy it's had £1300 thrown at it this month!

The turbo had failed turning my street into a smoke screen. I only started it to take it for a test drive!

Pulled all the pipe work off and he turbo is full of oil as is the intercooler and pipe work!!

I'm f**king fuming which Id never bought this pile of sh*t! Its spend most of its time in bits since buying it less than a year ago and at most 900 miles on clock. I bought off the owners club thinking Id get a decent example granted id pay more for it but I thought it would of been worth it guess I was wrong!

Here are a few photos showing the difference between the koni adjustables and the bc coilovers.

image.jpg image.jpg

I have the old koni adjustable for sale if anyone wants them? They have eibach lowering springs fitted too.

AET turbos have called me today and it appears that they haven't built this turbo like the seller told me.

They can however rebuild it with better bearings and a rs4 impela so that's another load of ££££ gone.

Does anyone make them fancy window sticker that people put down the side of the windscreen? I was thinking of getting the money pit put on it lol.
