Just got back from the painter to look at the painted shell.
He was just busy painting the front panels and doors.
Saturday morning we will have the car back at home

That colour is stunning, and with all the new parts going on the car this is going to be one nice MK1 indeed. Looking forward to seeing this go back together!!

With the help of some friends we got the car off the frame that we welded. We put the car on some jackstands and woodenblocks.
We started fitting the fuel, brake lines and fueltank.
After that we mounted the front struts on the car.
When that was sorted, we mounted the brake servo
Also fitted the rear beam
And then it was time to finally put the tires back on the car after approxiomatly 3 months of hard work
Also mounted the CVD axles
We couldn't resist putting some trim back on the car…
Also painted the front middles section of the car satin black + the inner edge at the front window
That's most of the work we did today, tomorrow we'll fit the headliner and windows

Nice work! The rubber boots on your CVs are much longer than the ones on my 81 Rabbit. Wondering why? In any case keep up the good work. I enjoy reading your progress.
Thanks! Hmm can you see little rings on your CVs?
The metal flange isn't all the way seeded on ours..

Thanks to the big help of some friends we managed to fit the headliner and windows Before we could fit the headliner we glued some isolation and noise reduce mats with Tec7 on the roof.
After that was done we installed the inside wiring loom. So the wires for the interior light are all set when we later install the headliner.
After that we glued the A-post vinyl in place
LOTS OF CLAMPS!
All done
Also fitted and glued the door seals
The doors are a bit hard to close now since we got new rubbers.
Then we moved on to the rear inside vinyl covers for the C-posts.
Other side
All glued up
And finally we began fitting the headliner, the more difficult task today :p
We started with making the rods since we didn't have any.. (103cm long for anyone that is in need for some)
We first clamped the fabric in the front and rear.
When the glue in the rear was drying we fitted the rear window.
We then glued the headliner at the rear side windows and also installed these after the glue was set.
Outside shot
All in all today we managed to get most of the headliner in, the hardest part is done, the front will be a lot easier.
Tomorrow we'll do the rest of the headliner after I come back from school.

He also installed the rear tank for the wiper fluid
Some more sound proofing in the doors and rear panels
Finally he installed the front door windows with our friend.
Window guide fitted that we powdercoated
Window fitted with the lifting mechanism
Other side, check!
Also fitted the doorhandles.
Tomorrow in the morning we'll finish the headliner since I had a very late class today

And finally we put some more isolation on the floorpanels
Also put the floormats in, looks much nicer!
Rear floormat with holders
We also forgot the replace the fuel lines when we installed the tank
Also put some rubber hose over the lines so they don't touch as bad
Also installed the hood handle and little side mats.
We also installed the steering wheel and rear interior panels, I forgot to take pictures though..

Looking great and making super progress. Did you put any insulation between the roof and headliner? Helps with noise and with inside temperature.
Thanks! Yes we did, roof sounds less like a tin can
