Should be:

Red with dark etch was once all repair was done. New archs welded lead loaded and bit of filer.
Grey primer is slick sand blocked down followed by pinky primer ready for final block. One swage line out so I sort that first and go from there.


Slow progress but getting there!!

All flated and built up to check gaps swage lines etc



Fit the sunroof on Check that tomorrow.

Well yesterday was D day so I painted it up with the help from Lee from Connerstone technology.

Grinded it off the rust, then rust protection over top.

Not done an update in ages so thought it was a good time to do one while on lockdown…

Just need to remember how to upload the pictures.

Since I last posted I done the following:
Suspension built up and fitted
Gearbox rebuilt
Short Block horned and built up, new pistons, shells, crank polished etc
Head flowed, cleaned, new tappets and Cam.
Tall block built up and fitted.
New fuel and Brake lines
Brake set up built up,
Engines parts powder coated, Pulleys, cam cover  rocker cover etc etc

After buying many K-Jet parts and not getting anywhere I have decided to go down the Twin 40 route.
So bought a set of twin 40s only when they turned up they was twin45  
After doing research, Chris worked the Jets idle etc etc to run with the engine
4-2-1 manifold was fitted and exhaust.


Set the carbs up on the Exhaust gas analyser we have at work.


In-between in the evening my work colleague and myself have been flatting and polishing. Not easy when you painted 3 years ago and used anti scratch clear coat ….

Plan post COVID 19 once back at work neaten up the engine bay,
Sort suspension out as springs are moving.
Start getting the wring sorted inside new ISO for head unit, speaker wires and Alarm.
Cavity wax applied
New headliner and carpet in.
Seats need attention would like to keep the standard GTI paten. So I start getting quotes on re trims etc any recommendation be much appreciated.
Finish Polishing.
Fit the windows.
