Haha it's that time of year again, same for me mate, just had my renewal paperwork through from flux and they want all the receipts for work done, pictures etc for agreed value (which they never honoured and haggled over last time), :ocf_emoticons__BangHead: you'd think they would save all the details from last year, the one thing they did honour was £100 quid off voucher I won at Stonor park a cpl of months ago, was prepared for hassle with that but they took it otherwise I'd have shopped around

I would agree with this thread alot, I got a 'cheap' quote from them last year for my Mk5 gti, (23 year old first petrol car i got quoted £1300)  at the time the car was standard and when i asked for them to add my wheels and coilovers onto my policy they told me i would have to cancel my policy as a standard car and rejoy as a modified car.

Now at the time i told them i would be modifying the car and would like to take out the policy as a 'modified' the guy ensured me this would not matter regardless and it would just be added when required not costing that much to add the required mods.

When adding the modifications they then required an extra £600.00 on top of my policy to insure me to fix their mistake. Once i heard this i searched for a cheaper quote and once i did i adviced them to cancel my policy as it was too expensive.

I got a quote from Greenlight fully comp with mods for £1100 for the year. Once i rang flux back it was on the last day of the cancellation period and they charged me £378 to cancel without me knowing, when i rang to state this they quizzed the matter refunding me the money dragging the issue out beyond the cancellation period and making me pay the fee in the end up.

I would not recommend them at all. Customer service was shocking as i was told 3 - 4 different things and ended up paying the cancellation fee when i was told wrong all along.

Rant over :lol::lol::lol:On the other hand i would recommend Greenlight any day over and over again, guys where very helpful. :thumbs::thumbs:

And I thought it was just me - a real ballache to get the values and papework sorted, all the extra charges wrote off any savings made from leaving previous insurer.

the twitter person was at least responsive when i started making a noise on there though…….

I'll not be using AFlux again; I would have cancelled the policy but they were going to fleece me on the refund.
I bought a car from someone who had it insured with them so I thought it would be straightforward to swap it over to me using the agreed valuation they had on file with all the spec and mods. They offered me a quote that was pretty good, transferred over the vehicle details and I paid the premium. I had the usual 14 days to cancel but didn't need to as all was good, or so I thought! On day 18 they sent me a letter saying they would not cover the agreed value dropping it from £8k to £5k. I said I wasn't happy with that as they have changed the terms that I agreed. When I asked for a refund they said that after deducting the cancellation fee, the admin charge and their "commission" I would get £271 back having paid £525 18 days earlier. I argued that they already had it on an agreed valuation and it hasn't dropped £3k by changing ownership. They then said that the previous owner had never had it on an agreed valuation and they would offer £6k as a good will gesture. Not happy at all.
To think I was going to transfer all my vehicles (5 cars and 1 van) to them; not a chance!!!

Hi guys,

I am only ever a PM away if there's an issue be it a  new quote, renewal or a customer service issue.

What I would suggest is if anyone who has posted would like me to take a look into their policy please do send me a PM with your policy number & a brief overview of the issue - That way I can promptly get matters addressed and do my best to resolve any unhappiness.

I can only apologise on behalf at this stage, it does seem as though some of you have not had the best experience - Unfortunately it does tend to be the negatives that get posted, you rarely see posts from people stating they had a years insurance, never had an accident, never had an issue  - I appreciate this doesn't change matters though.

Kind regards
Dan

Oh sorry not to repost.

Dan sorted it out for me straight away after I pmed him.

Unfortunately all 3 policies that I have taken out with AF have had paperwork/email issues.

Agreed value on Sportline was disappointing but the values on the GX and GLS have been good.

My GLS policy runs out in March and Sportline soon after and I will leave AF and try elsewhere.

The only real positive is Dan has been great.

Just got my renewal paperwork through too.

Had an accident in January (not my fault) - their response to my question about the Corrado's agreed value was 'what agreed value?'

So I'm leaving too…

I had a no fault accident in March and on their paperwork to me it had it down as my fault and no claims bonus affected ??

It wasn't my fault and it never affected my no claims - 😳

All this negativity has me worried. I've been insuring my mk1 with af for a few years now.
Thing is I would classify my mk1 as heavily modified so I doubt many companies would insure me?

Adrian flux nearly gave me a heart attack today! rang them for a quote Im 42 years old been driving with no convictions for 25 years , full over 9 years no claims on 4 other vehicles and thought as they advertise everywhere to be the classic modified specialists, I would ask them to quote

MK1 GOLF 1983 CAMPAIGN
MODS , 1.8T ENGINE , STAINLESS EXHAUST , LOWERED , AND BBS ALOYS WHEELS

Only doing 10 shows a years limited to only 1500 miles

My usual quotes are around £150 with Bridle

Guess what adrian flux the so called specialist quoted

£465 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not even a agreed value included and they wanted to fit a smart box in car !

What a bunch of jokers ! Daylight Robbery !!  :(

Robbers !!!!!!!

I'm still with them until next spring I think and pulling both cars away.

My agreed value on my tintop is decent and will consider stating if the quote is right.

The Sportline value is too low IMO so I will be going elsewhere.

SANJP,

Sorry we weren't able to compete. If you wanted to PM me your contact details I'd be more than happy to take another look at the quote to see if we can do anything to help.

Kind regards
