Watched while someone reversed into my Cabrio

Oh no Mike that's just not fair!!! Talk about have more than your fair share! :(

At least it's 'just' a scrape on the arch and bumper, no dents to deal with. Get it repaired and you'll soon forget about it. Then sell your house and live in the Cabby to keep an eye on it

Can you not find someone to share the drive with you, fill the back with marshmellows and just float down the road - taking it in turns of course! :D

Hi Si,
I did think about it a fair bit but to be honest I don't know anyone insane enough to come with me all way that and back!

Then being dragged around from pillar to post which would include spending a couple of days down in Hampshire with my family. Including three days with a large group of people including me when the only thing they hear is Mk1 stuff.

I do know one guy insane enough but I'm not sure I want to release him on the uk just yet.
Well that and I'd probably throttle him even before we got out of Austria!

Well my Cabby went back into the paint shop yesterday for the latest parking damage to be repaired.
Second time in the paint shop in under two months!

If it spends much more time in there I be forced to changed the keepers details in the reg document.

Anyhow when it comes out I have a novel way of stopping this from happening again when I'm at work.

Just simply build yourself a high security fence around said parking spot and employ heavily armed police to watch over it!.  :ninja:

Okay, it is a little on the expensive side but it works I can tell you!

Sounds a fair idea Mike although I think he needs a bigger gun!    :ocf_emoticons__2guns:

I believe some South Africans have adapted their cars for such incidents!

Or you could use some heavy armour and CHAINSAWS!!!!!!  :o

I like the South African solution a lot.
Much better than my alarm system that just chirps 5 times when you stand to close!

Mind you if you stand there for one minute and not taken heed of the warning the alarm goes off.

I've seen women drop shopping and the odd baby nearly slip out the hands in surprise!   :$

Day 3 in the paint shop not heard anything yet!  O_o

Hope their just busy and not have issues.

Now you're going to like this.  O_o

I called the paint shop yesterday around 11 because they close at 12 on Fridays over here.
I asked the Boss how it was going with my car as I thought the job would only take 2 days at most (took it there Sunday evening) having seen how fast they were the month before.

Now he said to me
"Oh I'm glad you've called because your car was ready Tuesday."

I replied
"Why didn't you call me on my Mobile?"

He replied
"But I don't have your number."

I said
"But you called me twice last month when I was having 2,500 Euros worth of damage repaired on the insurance claim of the other driver."

He replied
"Oh yeah but I threw the bit of paper away!"

So the only chance I have of picking the car up next week is one hour before I attend the Funeral of my Mother-in-law!
Imagine going in a black suit, shoes etc… into a paint shop to inspect a car before paying for the work minutes before a Funeral!  :shake:

The words "Customer Service" can't be translated into the Austrian version of German because the words just don't exist!  :banghead:

Service in Austria is a bit like "Russian Roulette", it either happens (bang) or it doesn't.
No matter how much you spend!  :constipated:

I give up, I honestly do!  :'(

Important!
Update and you're really not going to believe it this time!

As I've got the day off to attend the funeral of my Mother-in-law I decided to pick my car up from the paint shop.
The is following the 4th time someone has smacked into it.

Typical day for a funeral as it's hissing down in rain!

Picked the car up which was only 7 miles from my home.
On the way back and just coming into the the little town where I live and a woman pulled out from a side junction and T-boned my on the drivers door and rear quater!

Yes you read it correctly!   :'(

Can't write anymore now, just to upset!

Well I'm very sad to hear this news! I'm beginning to think that Schrat might just be one of those accident prone cars! I didn't know if they existed but you have proof. Just gutted for you!

Yep and I've come to the decision, he's just got to go!  :(
This is just to much now.

My motto is "I like a challenge" but there has to be a limit and this is it sadly!  :(

Thanks Si.
I do have two dash cam's but they were not in the car at the time because I didn't want them to suddenly grow legs while the car was in the paint shop!

I've got one front mounted and one rear for special occasions like driving down a mountain pass.

Ok to sum up.

My car was in the paint shop 6 weeks ago for heavy damage on the d/s rear 1/4, the 4th in the series. Over two grand in damage.

But I had the drivers door painted at my cost because there was a little bit of rust on one corner that needed doing.

The following week the whole car was Detailed in and out including the seats and carpet.

The week after that I had the engine bay Dry Ice cleaned.
Only three days after that I was in Wörthersee for the 2015 GTI Treffer.

A week after someone did this to my car in a shopping center car park.

Set me back 300 Euros and I went to pick it up yesterday morning before the funeral as I didn't won't to take any more time off work for such things.
I'd left the paint shop only 15 minutes before when some Cow does this!

The paint was barely dry for god sake!  :banghead:

More of this story to follow…

Today's update before I move on with the story.

My Son Daniel kindly took it back to the paint shop today to show the Boss. Now I could have done it yesterday but I was to upset if I'm honest!

As he parked up the Boss came out the office surprised to see the car back so soon. Then as he walked over to the car according to my son, his face just dropped.  :o

He asked my boy what happened, so he explained and Daniel said his face changed from one of surprise to one of shock.  As he was taking the details he kept on looking at the damage and shaking his head.

He asked my boy how I was taking it? To which he replied,  "don't ask!"

Now my son is not one to over exaggerate normally but said the guy looked blown away by what he saw!  O_o

Mind you he's not on his own there.  :o

So I will leave it there Sunday night (again) and they will deal with the insurance assessor and will try to have it finished by the end of next week.

I'll get back to the story with the lunatic woman and the Police at a later time as I'm a bit short of that myself at the moment!
