Cowboys. I'd be fuming if they put my car through a car wash!

Yes Mate but these are Cowboys that charge 150 Euros an Hour for there work!

Only had my Golf Mk1 now for 14 Months but I could and still might right a thin paperback book on the incompetence and stupidity of VW Austria!

OK my home has not been flooded or washed away in these storms (and I do feel for these people, it's very close to home) but this is my Baby!

I'm so cheesed off

Oh they will my friend and it will be 'My Why'.
Not just a hoover and a bake oven either.

And if they don't do it right to my satisfaction then they will get it back until they have, oh and I will start charging them my hourly rate for it into the bargain for the time I'm wasting!

Update.
Dropped the car off at 7:00am again this morning.  O_o

Gave the young service guy (about 30ish) a right royal bollocking, not that I really needed to.
I wished you could of seen his face when he saw all the water, it was a classic.
His face went 'Mars Red', then I lifted the over carpet out and just held it as the water started to pour out of it!

Then just to rub it in I asked him was he any good at making paper boats?
He looked at me and thought for a few seconds and asked "why?".
To which I relied, 'Well if you make one I can sail it for you in the foot well!"
(but they really don't have a sense of humor over here)

So I simply told him to sort it and if it's not to my own satisfaction they will get back and attached to it will be a 'Lawsuit'!  O_o

That gave him something to think about!
So lets see what happens?

I hope he did Andy because if it's not 100%, then what I did to him is just the warm up show in comparision with what's in store for the Service Manager.
I used to eat one of those daily for breakfast, washed down with a hot cup of tea!

I just wont be screwed with anymore its as simple as that but especially at there prices and I'm not paying for it directly. Except for all the hours off work it's costing me and the stress/aggravation!  :P

As for picking it up, well they were moving the car into the shop as I walked away just after 7:00am and they hope to have it ready tonight, lets wait and see!

Stay tuned.

Evening update.
Just collected the car, garage closed at 5:00pm.

AND IT'S STILL WET INSIDE!  :P  :P  :P

They have dried the rear carpet and the over mat to be fair but when I stuck my hand right under the front seat. Where the front carpet under laps the rear carpet, it's soaking bloody wet.

THEY DIDN'T DRY OFF THE FRONT CARPET AS WELL, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!  :P  :P

Surely logic would say that if the rear floor well is full of water then both carpets are going to be wet and just one of them.

Or am I wrong?  :'(

I give up I really do and as 'Eeyore' the donkey said,
"Well you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it sink!"  O_o
If I ever find a VW Dealer/Mechanic the knows is butt from his elbow in Austria I'll drop dead of a bloody heart attack.  O_o

We've got some very warm weather heading are way which hopefully will dry out my carpet and Central Europe. Several Villages not 10 and 15 minutes from me are flooded and parts have been evacuated!!!  :(

Oh god they can't even get that right Mike.

Feel for you buddy but at least your house hasn't been flooded. :)

Best thing to do mike, take the front seat out and sit it in the sun with the roof down :)

Just in case you want to see what it looked like when I opened the door!

:P

Sorry about the out of focus bit, taken with the handy and I think shaking a bit in ANGER!  :P

But you get the picture!

Post

So I've pulled up this post because I can't believe it myself.

Someone has done it again, so I've renamed the post.
"Not again! Now known as 'Not again for the 3rd time'!"

Here's a picture of my car last weekend and one from back in the summer as a illustration.

Then just yesterday morning I get a call from the Police to tell me that someone has reported to them that they have done some damage to my Mk1.
"Parking Damage".
So what would you all expect to find? A little scratch or two maybe, even a little ding. I mean it's as if I've not been down that road before with this car.

But to find this!

Not the best photos to show the extent of the damage but just to put it into perspective, here's where the car was parked!

I should have taken the car off the road Sunday but as the weather is so good I wanted to keep the car out just a few days before I lose it for 5 to 6 Months.

3rd time in 30 Months and it's costing a fortune in time off and of course devaluing the car which was paint wise 100% original just a when I picked it up.

I've got to be honest, I'm beginning to believe that this is one battle I can't win. So what's the point off having it in the first place!

Just being honest.
I've got the whole Winter to think about it but as I mentioned it to Fathammer yesterday this could be the car in our Competition to end all cars.

"Guess the Asking Price" of mine!  :'(

But if I do decide to sell it, I'll still stay in this Club and play my part because this Club is now in my blood and I don't see that ever changing.

Thanks JB and Mr. Chairman as I know you really mean that.

I think I said once before, had I have known just hard it would be to own a Mk1 over here. To be honest I would have dropped the idea but hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it.

I have no off road parking.
No garage or workshop space of my own.
No Club here, other than us.
Awful standard of work from VW Main dealers.
Parts, I have to buy from back home, Germany and around the world.
Lose the car for at least 6 Months due to poor weather and hope for good summers and time to do what I can to the car standing in the street or in a shopping car park somewhere.

You do the maths my friend.  O_o

I'm not going to make a rash decision just yet but you can guess which way I'm leaning!
And yes, I've seen much worse here on the Club's website and so I'm playing the worlds  :ocf_emoticons__eusa_boohoo:  but there you go.

I know the answer Mike, you could 'donate' me your car to look after for you, I'll let you see the photos of how Scrat is doing. It would be a bit like moving a flat that doesn't allow pets and having to give away a dog or cat to a friend and then receiving the occassional update.
Or you could just tell the wife its time to move back to the UK where they do have decent MK1 body shops, if she decides top stay in Austria at least you'll have a nice quiet drive home !

At least they owned up to it. I doubt you'd get that honesty here in the UK!

Have you checked it for magnetism!?

Why the picture of the door hinges? Has it pulled them out of line? :o
