golf gti 16s oettinger? MK1

can anybody tell me how many gti mk1 oettingers are in this country (in various states of build etc), thanks.

I have an original 16S and a GTI Engineering 2000E/16 car. Only 2 original cars I know of in UK

Do you mean that your 16s mk1 is or was the only one in the uk?

there is a genuine sloane square 2000e16 having a slow nut and bolt refurb up in the north east of england.

yes it was originaly from monaco and brought over here years ago and was stood in a garage for maybe 12 years (although stood outside for about 1 to 2 years also)i have a rather large folder of original sales and import docs and pre owners etc etc pretty much all there although it needs a little tlc, mainly paint though,it looks like its a very early version too, + it has matching rear head rests to the front ones, other oettinger pics ive seen dont have them!!

Ha ha it needs a little more than a wash n polish! It would appear that they are very few n far between, had a chat with a French friend of mine and he asked a buddy of his who works for a French VW dealership and he's only ever seen one 16s and that was down in the south of France! Gonna have a go at getting her started this weekend, I only picked it up on Saturday gone! Fingers crossed I guess.

The top half paint has gone dull from a previous painted upper body job! + the car sat out in the weather the passed year or two! Full paint job soon though.

Nice to see another 16s, and looking at your location you must be fairly close to raj (dubboy)
