Alpine White G60

had this for around seven years now, not really showed it off that much.

been running it supercharged for over 2 years now and loving every min of it. the guy who mapped it believed it was in the region of 210-220 bhp

it goes and doesnt stop going, no need to change gear for overtaking, it just picks up from low down revs and screams to the top

as much as i love it i may have to sell the engine soon to fund the restoration of the body, i may try the valver on bike carb thing as it sounds quite cool

here she is
for a 1.8 8v i would use a mini supercharger, you can pick one of these up on ebay cheap enough

the cars body isnt really that bad, i just want it looking fresh with no rust dots dents or scratches, maybe a few mods along the way

hi, thanks for the comments, the wheels are bbs rs 001 with 1.5" stainless steel dish all round with stainless bolts. been on 2 years, not even a water mark on them. spending the extra cash on going stainless was deffo worth it, all they need is a wipe and they are good as new

complete engine is worth 2k all day long when you consider the hours and dollars i spent making it work reliably. People think you can just buy a charger for ?100 off ebay and bobs your uncle, no chance mate, so much fabrication, trial and error, running back and forth trying bits, the mapping was a whole story in itself.. car was off road almost a year doing this.

dollars = easy life, simple lol (just like the wheel example above) lol

fair point mate if you have put that much work in to it , im dont know what to do .e.g charger or turbo my 16v ,like you said it will all be custom made .

i doubt you can build a "fast" engine for less tbh, i get most custom things made cheaply as i have a mate who is a fabricator. ok alot of fun is doing it yourself, but let me tell you, it wasnt fun having a mk1 on my drive that i couldnt drive till i got it done lol.

if i was to start again, id give the 2k to drop the lump in and not have to go through all that crap again for sure!

turbo or charger?? all depends on how you want the car to drive, i liked mine to be progressive, i didnt want it to be dead, then all of a sudden have 250+ bhp at the wheels of a 850kg car, it wont go straight! deffo budget for an lsd for high power mk1's

you gotta choose the right components on a turbo motor for it to drive how you like, then its all up to the mapper.

you can get loads of power out of a 16v t but tbh any more than what i have now, id be affraid to drive it. ive had quite a few brown trouser moments..

i chose the eaton over the g60 charger as i didnt have to run oil lines as its self contained in the eaton, plus it doesnt need rebuilds.
