Started to replaced the base supports on the seats as they were starting to look a bit tired bless:

Anyway both done so just need painting:

Bit more work today.

Got the car up in the air & did some checking / measuring:


Drilled an 11mm hole through the double skin area of centre tunnel:


Tidied up & ground of any burs then soaked any bare metal in etch primer.

Cleaned area for plate then held it in position & put eyelet through into it & tightened:

Next job was to strap the front cage down to pull it away from the roof:


Then get the disc cutter on the ends of the front half removing about 2cm:


I tried pulling them in with a strap to see the difference and as you can see RESULT!!! they look much better:




Just need to spend time on it drilling new holes for the front section.


Also put some etch primer on one set of seat brackets:


Had one mishap the other day when i bumped my head on the steering column when the wheel was off & snapped this piece off that normaly rubs against the wheel (for horn i think):


Not sure if it is hard to replace/repair?

Managed to get the drill/brush over the gearbox ready for painting, got about 85% of the surface crud removed so far:





Also spotted a rear arch in a pic taken early from the build in this months PVW in a CGTI review:

Velly said i am now a "Scene Queen"  :lol:

Drive shafts had all new CV ends fitted then i repainted them:







Few bits on the gear linkage also got a dab of paint:


Picked up a crane for the heart transplant (thanks Craig "Altern8"):

Was hoping to have had things done a lot quicker but so many other things going on at the moment so it's a bit of a struggle sorry folks  :redfaced: .

Hi mate not sure if you have rims yet, but i got a set that i bought to go with a berg cup kit on my car but ive changed my plans since then i had adaptors made for them



and on the car



cant really run them without berg arches lol the law dont take too kindly



just thought they look similar to the ones in your pics they are of a chevy camaro lol

the front are 14x6j and the rears are 14x7 an a half j polish up nice too, good dish on the rears

They look really nice mate but i needed my BBS ones as my brakes won't fit under less than 15"

I will be using two 9x15 & two 8x15

I did buy them ages ago so they may well have become obsolete since then :redfaced:
