Mk4 Golf R32- opinions?

Please don't hit me, but has an Alfa 147 GTA not crossed your mind?
I believe there was some crazy 3rd party tuning firm that used to sell a 370bhp conversion for them.
No violence required- I've owned a few Alfas and my daily driver is an Alfa (see sig) and I've had and sold a 147 GTA- looking for something more substantial- great drive but a bit tinny. Anyway you're not a true petrolhead until you've had an Alfa! (Can't wait to see the stir that comment causes…)
I don't like the Mk5, so it has to be a Mk4 R32.
Completely agreed, I've had four Alfas - love them! On the days they work, they are unmatchable (shame that didn't happen too often with mine! lol)
No idea what company does the 370bhp GTA's, it was what Hammond was driving on Top Gear that time they Hypnotised him to not know how to drive.
I do like the Mk5 Golf GTI - maybe I'm getting old??

Mk5 is ok. Mk6 is awful.

Alfa V6 drivetrain in a Mk1 Golf? Go on Steve, you've talked about how good the Alfa engine is, needs to be done, someone's got to do it, etc….
Sounds like a plan. I know someone at Ivychurch who races a Metro with a 3.0 Alfa V6 in the back driving the rear wheels, that's a bit of a beast!!

Is the Alfa V6 a transverse one? I know there's a few other transverse V6s, for example Vauxhall 2.5/2.6, Hyundai 2.7, and obviously the Volkswagen VR6.

The one in that Metro is also transverse.
