That’s the position on post 1990 cabs.

So they keep the sides from sucking inwards and more stability and keeping them out of the hinge…. Never have see them.  Funny I don't see them in the ETKA either.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I keep a large roll of elastic as it usually rots and falls off.
If I get an early example in I’ll ping a photo up.

Hi guys, I still can't figure out this outer skin I have. It looks different than what was on the car/ you are showing above. The piping towards the end of the sides is not at the bottom of the top, but a bit higher. The channel where the cable feeds through to the inside is therefore wider than the others shown. I have put the rear cable in and tightened it quite a hit, but when I close the roof and it gets tension the bead pulls away from the cable tray because this channel is too wide. Any ideas if this top of wrong or am I doing something wrong? Are there different tops for earlier/ later model perhaps and that I have the wrong one?

Also, I am not quite getting the "relief cut" issue on the top. I have a new top from TMI in the States. As per the picture it looks like the cut is already there, or am I missing something? The cable "channel" of the top ends in line with the cable tray end and can't really see it working any other way, unless some tops are just manufactured differently? 16165650574977489659383383868410.jpg

On this picture you can see the distance of the cable to the bead is quite wide and therefore not pulling the bead close enough to the body work chanel.

Remind me to never buy a top from where you got that from.
Not sure how your even fitting this or what your process is…
That top looks nothing like what I buy in for my customers.

It is quite strange what they did on the rear sides. The general quality of the stitching and material looks excellent though.
