How often do u get stopped by admiring onlookers??

Yup, should have done insurance, but she is too old

we had a few issues with it when we got it running the coilpacks were crap tbh but jkm in portsmouth changed the clucth mot`d it and then stuck it on the rollers its going back once its had a shakedown to be mapped again think its around 230bhp at the minute so plenty more to come :wink:

hope he's now got the mk1 grin  :mrgreen:

i get lots in my mini people asking what year it as its before they brought out pre fixed letters to denote what age the car is.
get alot of looks tho in the golf when im driving but nobodys stopped yet other than mates wanting to see her

Our local BP garage is on the airport, so often has an AA guy touting for trade there.

There's been two in the last month and they've both commented.

The one last week called me back as I got to the car to chat about MK1 golfs!  8)

The only person who offered to buy it was one of the service mechanics at work who told me he'll give me ?100 "when it fails it's MOT" :evil:

I still wouldn't change it for the world. 8)

Loads especialy at the petrole station, was followed home the other nite buy some chavs   :evil:  they drove of when I went up the street to see what the hell they wanted, noticed they came back a few hrs later same again when i went out to them luckley the car was locked away buy then.

It's going in a few weeks but he'll NEVER get his hands on it. If it fails I'll just repair it. :mrgreen:

i get quite a few in mine with the dogs in the back, well little one in the back as if he was in the front I would be licked to death,

but big dog always on front passenger seat smiling. always gets some looks.

worked out that optimum cruising speed is 47mph, as soon as i go above that she lies down on the seat, slown down and she gets up again!

I usually get stopped somewhere whenever I go out, and I've got a box of "If you want to sell this car - ring this number" bits of paper taken from the windscreen wipers.

Usually one of the following:

"Nice!"
"I used to have one of these."
"That's in good nick."
"How old?"
"My dad used to have one of these."
"How fast is it?"
"Is that the original stereo?"
"It's so small!"
"My grandad used to have one of these."
"Don't see many of these anymore."

never get any because my mk1 spends more time in the garage   and its just failed mot :cry:

I've had a few comments on Facebook by friends who have seen me ragging it around town and people have commented when i have stopped and parked up.

My partner and I were at a dealers the other day buying her a new beetle and the sales bloke was going crackers over it!!!!

well last night on my back from picking my girlfriend up from heathrow i got stopped by the police, i saw them following me for about 5-10 min.
after i was stopped the officer came over and said "don't worry sir nothing wrong with your driving"
they just wanted to know about the car, i've got a chico and they have never seen one so they wanted to know all about it.
all this at 1 in the morning with a grumpy girlfriend in the car from the long flight, but i was more than happy to tell them about it.
