Thanks for the info its been quite a long wait. How have you managed to get any info i havent been able to find out anything, Heres is a picture of the conversion..

Hi Nifty,

yes sir thats a JanSpeed  8)   these are becoming VERY rare now, so its very nice to see such a well kept exhample :)
I have seen a few Escort XR3I and Range Rovers for sale on fleabay.

There were also a MG B system, and a Ford Pinto system, for sale thats it.

Jonathan who wants to do the JanSpeed turbo conversions site, would also like to hear from you.
(see your own thread)

Does your car have the conversion plate? is it the Blue/Alloy or Black/Alloy ??

Is the Black car yours?  8)  dont see any JS Turbo badges on it? did you remove them?

I cant find any quots for HP on the kits, but I did find out, that these kits were all fitted by -

JanSpeed or their agents, Ben from France, with the 240Z knows that his car were send to JS -
Salisbury UK, to have the conversion done, and the Capri owner, on the Ford forum also knows-
that his car was send there, and all the cars I have seen for sale had the conversion plate,
so I dont think any "kits" were sold.

The guy who owned my car in 1985, saw the JS Turbo display, on Earls Court Motor Show,
and wanted one, but were told by the sales people, that -
"it was not somthing he could have wrapped up in a box to go"
it was a complete conversion, and he had to send the car to JS -
in Salisbury UK.

In one of the old magazines, who had a enterviev with Jan Ódor, he told them that the -
Land Rover & Range Rover were the most sold ones, but that was only becourse they -
sold a lot of Land Rovers to South Africa, with Turbo on the Diesel version.

Hi there jens
Glad you like the car , Think the conversion plate you are talking about must have been discarded when the first owner chromed the engine.
How does your one run mine runs nice as you would expect with the milage but does get hot . Was thinking about fitting a intercooler but not sure who could do it and how much it would cost . Have to admit i havent had any time this year to enjoy it work has been very hectic  probably used about three times this year .Get jonathan to send me a message and i will see what i can do
regards Nifty
Sorry al_mk1 didnt answer your questions the wheels are compomotive splits and the zender kit is a extra wide q7 kit.

Hi Nifty,

sorry to hear that the conversion plate is gone, well never mind, you have the rubber grommets
with JanSpeed on them 8)   did he give you the bill from when it was done? mine is missing

but the guy, who bought my setup, after it exploded the second time, once saw the car, and this
was just after it was built in UK.

It was in for service, at a local specialist car garage, he sat in the car, and noticed a portfolio
in one of the rear pockets, inside it was the bill from JanSpeed, he told me this years before I
found the car, so I know he,s not making it up.

Regarding intercooler, I once saw a JanSpeed item on Ebay, it was brand new in box, nice
alloy item, with the JanSpeed name in big alloy letters on top, of both the tubes, and the rad 8)
I didnt buy it becourse it was for a Ford, only later did I find out that I could have it rebuilt to
fit my car, and reshape the alloy tubing, but then it was sold

My car drives very nice, I already burnt the new clutchplate I put in, and its only done 700 miles
but it really pulls.

I will show Jonathan this thread.

Hi Gents  i had the janspeed mid-section and rear back box exaust, Mild steel. Both mid & rear rotted away. on my mk1 gti back in the 90,s. Bought it from ripspeed, who are halfords now.

I loved the deeper sound it was very unique. I tracked down janspeed in salibury and had a stainless steel exaust made for my mk1.

Hope it does sound as good as it did 30yrs ago.
