pic heavy update 22/12/2011 !!

Just a few final touches left now.

some fresh pics from todays activities.

it did start to snow half way through but hey i kept going and got a fair bit done. collected some parts thanks to ross in chesterfield, injectors only a couple of months old with seals, inlet manifold and throttle body and meterhead and fuel lines included warm up. so i fitted the new injectors when i got home then i fitted the arches and all the side strips and also my centre caps. i am very happy with the look just need a front 1600gti dust seal for the caliper and my new headliner and boot liner from newton commercial and i ll be ready to complete the inside.

I'm back ! Its been a while since i've been on the car is still not done hav'nt really had time as i've started a new business. Strangely it's a bodyshop lots work can be doen on my car now to.

As for the golf it will be moving back upto the bodyshop in the next week where i will finish off the brakes and get it mot'd.

For infomation the bodyshop is in Cannock Staffordshire so if anyone requires any body work give me a shout.

Hi, moved the golf upto the bodyshop today drove ok but brakes need alot more work the 16v servo and g60 master cylinder i think need tweaking.

I'm also happy to say have a mk1 golf gti in the bodyshop for a bit of work, well its lhasa green and its having a black roof should look pretty good i think. Watch out for a pic that i will put up over the next few days of 2 golf gti's on top of one another……. you will see ssoon anoth.

Well here is the pic i was on about and alsoa few of the car as it stands today.

Brakes are getting better stilla bit more to do, fitted the anti roll bars today to so it should be in for an mot by saturday.

thanks mate i was considering getting some ats classics eventually but well see need to get it sorted first.  

got the mot tester to check my brakes and they are just about passable but i'm not happy with them they dont feel as sharp as i thought they would be. i will adjust the rear brakes and sort out the linkage and hopefully get it better. one thing i 'am missing which i'm not happy about is the front arb brackets, i lost one and bout another one then found the old one but now cant find all of them and so i'm one short which i need for mot. gutted !!!!!

only small stupid stuff really. here's the list

N/S dipped beam not working
O/S fog lamp not working
Indicators not working (all)
Horn not working ( new that)
N/S front track rod end bolt no nilock nut
O/S front track rod end bolt no nilock nut
N/S front chassis rail component fracture ( basically caught the inner wing with the gearbox and put a tear my fault)
O/S tyre has a bulge in the wall
N/S flexi hose missing component ( my fault forgot i needed one)
N/S axle mount missed a small bit of welding (doh)

that was the list many stupid things seems while trying to get the horn to work i inavertable wiped out a few fuses ie dipped beam, indicators, and fog lamp.  so in short it will all get sorted this week wont take me long and it may seem a little harsh of the tester but it was a mate and i told him i wanted him to tell me everything so it is perfect so he did lol.

it will be worth it.
