any progress?

yeah there is but its all bodywork at the moment as im doing the bay notching both sides of the chassis and raising the turrets and removing all the unneeded holes im not worried about any part of the conversion it should be easy  8)

Well pull your finger out, and dont leave so long between updates, been getting withdrawal symptoms!!!!

I will wait to see this …. it will be awesome to see a TDI in a MK1

Great work as always, makes me miss my old Gold mk1 I had over 18 years ago, not seen a gold golf in USA yet. Liking the mods and engine option.

front panel welded on all seem sealed

here's a quick mock up with a replacement wing sourced from crazyquiffs



a few bits powder coated and polly bushed



new ball joints too



new bearings



refurbed rack



and the wheels are finally sorted

Very impressive work amigo! I'm currently doing the same conversion to my mk1 Jetta in the other projects section! Though I'm using the mk4 mounts and will be keeping the air con and Powersteering via the Toyota starlet steering rack! Good job
