mk1 20vt and mk1 PD

Just read this post from start to finnish!  Well Done … awsome car.   Really like how you have re-engineered alot of it!

I am currently doing the same conversion on my mk1.    I have the standard ecu (immob defeated)  Im finding it really hard to wire the whole thing up.  Dont even know where to start!!!  I noticed you said crazyquiffs will modify  my loom for me? Tht would help!

Thanks

thanks mate  8)

yeah we would be able to mod the loom, what engine code do you have?

today's job was to relocate the N75 valve to a more hidden place

i purchased 2 self sealing fittings  from revotec and got fitting

these come with a punch to make the hole in the hose

fitted into the boost pipe

then the same into the turbo intake pipe

and all plumbed up and hidden away

i also found a stockist of the proper single ear clips in stainless so i replaced all the clips

Love the rear lights!

My engine code is AGU. What modifications does the loom need? all i will need to do is wire it up to the fusebox then?
My car was carb so i need to wire in a fuel pump relay also.
Help would be much appriciated! i will disconnect the loom from the engine + package it up ready to send to Crazyquiff.

I like your intake , the standard one is alot more restrictive! think i may aquire a few of your ideas.

Thanks

Loving the lights mate, are they just the standard lights with tint spray on them? or are they all red aftermarket jobs? I added you on facebook too btw haha  :redfaced:

looking lovely chap!

pretty sure for the diagnostics you can run the k-line from the ecu direct to the VAG-COM port, you dont need the clocks or either of the CAN-BUS wires. Kline wire is from pin 43 of the ecu, or pin 1 of the orange plug if you still have this on the MK4 loom. run this direct to pin 7 of the diagnostics port and you should be in business. the only reason there is a k-line from ecu to clocks is for the immobiliser function, the clocks then have a passthru for this wire to the vagcom port :)

with the SAI delete you don't need a resistor, this wont do anything to prevent the code that comes up. to make sure the code doesn't appear it needs coding out of the ecu, as it does complex calcs based on lambda results to determine if the SAI error comes up, rather than checking the SAI wire to the relay. the wire is simply a trigger wire to the relay, the ecu cant sense anything from it see.

good news is afaik the SAI code wont actually effect the engine power if its flagged up anyway :)

good info there rubjonny thanks, i have done a few of these aum conversions now and have never had success with running the k-line straight to the obd port, the clock solution works so for the odd time it needs plugging its not a issue  8)

right time for business

here it is……………..

engine in

sat on all my custom mounts no problem  :D

most of the pipe work on for mock up

the engine is 100% wired up in the bay and I'm half way into the extended loom

a few random shots

the sump on full drop is quite low too

that's all for now

thanks everyone  8)

with the engine bay wiring done i moved on to the hidden loom in the wing

I'm using 2 looms spliced together to make one long one

part way in it looked a bit of a jumble  :x

then bunched up and mocked into place

this is how it will stay until its up and running (in case of any alterations need doing) once all is ok ill loom it all neatly

ecu all mounted up

next up will be the internal wiring  :D
