More progress today. Got the fuel tank in and rear axle assembled and ready to go in. I also flipped the front brake dust shields the right way round and put two new bearings in for peace of mind.

Lovely motor mate, where have you been buying your new parts from like the backing discs and bearings?

Like the rear beam set up…. are you going to run Mk2 rear brake calipers or Mk4?

Thanks mate! Going to run mk4 calipers. Apparently they are better than the mk2 ones.

Fully rebuilt calipers and brembo discs and pads on. Progress is slow atm as having two little girls is taking up all my time. Just trying to get some time up the workshop when I can as even the smallest of jobs is still progress.

Had the day off work today and managed to get the rear disc conversion finished, the brake bias valve fitted and rear brake pipes installed. I also assembled the steering rack minus the rack boots and track rod ends as they are still in the post.

Had a slight issue today. I ordered an new fuel pump bracket from crazyquiffs and went to fit it to the car only to discover that the L bracket and stud on the chassis leg were missing as when new panels were welded in they didn't have them on the replacements and were obviously forgotten about, really annoying. So I made my own L bracket, that was the easy bit but the stud was a bit more difficult so what I decided to to was drill a hole in the chassis leg and fit one of those pop in speed clips and then screwed a stainless front wing screw and washer into it. Nice and strong and also looks neat. Problem solved. I also got the brake master and fluid reservoir fitted to the servo.

Got a few more jobs done today, been a little slack and haven't touched it for nearly 2 weeks. So today I got the steering column refurbed and hydraulic clutch conversion done and the column installed into the car and attached to the rack so I now have steering. I also got the break linkages all connected up and functioning so all in all a fairly productive day.

Haven't done much for a while but managed to get on it today for a few hours and made some decent progress. I decided to replace the fuel tank for a brand new one as I didn't realise how cheap they were and the inside of my original tank wasn't 100 percent. I also got the front to rear brake lines in and the fuel pump and pipes plumbed in. This allowed me to get the rear axle in so it can now be a rolling chassis!. I then got the gear linkage in up to the rack ansd as I'm doing a g60 conversion I've decided to go for the o2a cable to rod linkage conversion so I can retain the original mk1 linkage up to the steering rack and keep it looking stock Inside. I've also ordered new carpets, headlining and underlay from newton commercial so I can hopefully make some progress on interior soon.

Made some really good progress recently. Both doors are now built up apart from wing mirrors and door cards and most importantly i finally got the engine in!! I also got the rear lights fitted which for such a small job made such a difference to the rear end.
