Nice car mate, good luck with the restoration. Are they Mk3 seats? do you plan on putting mk1 seats back in?

Thanks. I was told the seats were out of a Polo. Yes I will be putting mk1 seats in with no head rests if I can find any.

I'll keep my eyes open for some

Rollover jig brackets now finished, just need a quick paint, which I've already started doing

Also started removing the sound deadening from the passenger’s foot well until I forgot where I put the scraper. Just can’t find it anywhere

Also found this. I was wondering why the passenger side window was working

Managed to get some work done on the car today. Most of the interior sound deadening has now been removed, just need to clean up the glue that is left. Stripped most of the interior, removed the radiator, washer bolt, expansion tank, and ignition coil, also started disconnecting wiring and pipes to the engine ready for removal. Below is how the car currently stands.

Looks in pretty good shape mate. Good luck getting the glue off. Elbow grease required.  :P  :P

There is some welding and repair panels that will be needed but I will show them when the work is been done. I'm hoping to get certain parts of the inside, underside and the engine bay sand blasted, so hopefully this will remove the glue left from the sound deadening.

Got a bit more done today. Drive shafts and everything in the engine bay removed ready for the engine to come out, everything external body wise has been removed except for the rear lights and number plate. Also stared removing the underseal from the passengers side inner wing

Quick update. Borrowed my neighbours engine host and removed the engine. Lucky my brother was there to drive because I wouldn't have a clue. Also put the gazebo up and removed the underseal from the drivers side wing. Underneath will be done once the car is on the jig.

haha yeah did the job. I always find it easier to drop the engine on the floor and lift the car over it.

Yeah guess I have. Wasn't really looking for a yellow Golf though, it just happened that way. It's a Civic Jordan. Got a Porsche knocking around here somewhere to.
