Took the car for its mot today and it flew through apart from needing new front pads. So I'm very happy with that.

I carefully took the old membrane off (it was looking a bit tatty) so I could use it as template.
Was expecting to maybe have a bit of rust behind the membrane as the seals do let a bit of water in but I was happy to see it was all looking good. So i Just gave it a quick wipe over.
For the new membrane I used some heavy duty clear bags that my brother had from his works. They were thicker than the original ones. I doubled them up to add more protection.
I then covered the door in double sided tape and suck the new membrane on. I then went round the edges with waterproof duct tape to just secure it all.
I wasn't to fussed about the duct tape being all tidy as once the door card is fitted you cant see it plus the car is having a bare metal respray late next year.
That will see me through the winter.

As far as I'm aware they all came with heated seats, but I could be wrong.
You should have two switches under your hazard switch which are for the seats if its got it.
Best thing to do is start a new topic asking the question and see what people say.

My new carpet from newton commercial came today.
As people have said, its not as thick as the original carpet but it is very good quality.
Also ordered a new rivage gear knob from the dealers which I'm due to pick up this monday.
Going to pick the shade of cream I want for the leather next week aswell.

Hi nice to see another rivage getting the love it deserves, I have one the same but no way as shiney, any info on your gear shift knob would help me out as mine is well worn away. keep up the good work.
Cheers for the comment mate.
Its all coming along nicely but as you know its all time and money.
The gear knob was £30ish from the dealer.
Part number is:
357 711 141 A 1BX
Only 6 left when I ordered mine, so be quick.

Picked up my new gearknob from the dealers earlier today.
Just got a few more bits to order for the interior then its ready for the re-trim in just over a month.
The guys doing the re-trim are also making me a cream tonneau cover to match the interior.

Got the full set including all the rear badges, side karmen and front GTI.
They look really good quality.
Going to put them on when I've had the car resprayed next year.

When my pc was working I hardly used it as the phone does everything I need.
Had loads of problems logging into paypal lately.
