How much is this worth?

Been looking at a few Mk1's lately, and noticed some people are expecting mega money for them, and other seem Ok. Just looking at this one on eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Legendary-Mk1-VW-Golf-GTi-with-Complete-History-File-and-91-208-Miles-/281537777185?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item418cf58e21

How does that price seem, is that overpriced or about right?

Thanks in advance

That's cheap for that company seen them selling them for 10k plus

Yeah I'd agree that's cheap for KGF - seems a fair price irrespective as the car does look good. And it wont cost you anything to put the GTI badge in the right place either!

Almost wonder if they have put the wrong price on, definitely worth a serious look.

Hmmm! Now I am confused. They've just uploaded another on on eBay, at £8,500. I know its a campaign, but big price jump!

They have a Gti and a campaign for sale.

If I could be bothered I would but the Gti as it seems a decent deal.

The silver one looks like the one of ebay that the guy wanted 5k for.

I was tempted. Was just a little to far to go at Xmas.

No it's a different car. I went to see the one on eBay and he will take £3500 for it.

It was worth it's money but needed too much work for me.

We on about the same car.

He had it up for 6.5 but would take 5k if it sold for the weekend ?  Pictures looked like they were taken by warehouses.

Yip it's in St Andrews and it was £7k then £6k then £5k for one weekend then £6500 then back to £5k, as the listing was ending it went to £4500 then with 15 mins left it went to £3500.

It never sold so I went to see it on the Sunday.

I'm no mechanic so here goes 😊

My issue is I'm a condition freak so it needs new carpets, driver seat bolster gone and passenger seat very dirty. Although resprayed bits of rust coming thru so needs new respray, engine sounded ok but it has had lots of underbody welding for its mot and it looked a bit crispy underneath so as I'm no expert that's why I backed off.
The owner was a great guy and would take £3500.

Swerve I was going to sell my Sportline.

Not now though I'm going to spend some cash on it mechanically and get it perfect :-)

Happy days Massbad69 you've got a lovely tin top and a great cabby best of both worlds in my opinion, that GTI does look a good buy though 😃
