How much is my Golf mk1 gti worth?

Hi everyone unfortunately I have to sell my mars red mk1 GTI . I've had a few and like you all I love them but circumstances mean I have to sell . The deal is it needs alot of work e.g respray, damage repair, rust repair, burning oil, leaking abit of oil, trim bits etc. But its all MOT'ed and usable, pretty solid underneath and in the boot. Its my daily driver and i've done what I could and really wanted to restore it. Anyway the ones I see for sale are either at one end,  shells, barn finds etc which aren't road worthy yet for 1k ish then good ones for 3.5k and up. So i've put mine for 2.1k. Is that about right?. Its currently on gumtree ID 1147956575

You have been very honest in your advert, values are so widely spread at moment can't really advise you on that, the rust in the rear wing looks pretty serious and maybe hiding a lot worse underneath. Here  is a working link to your ad if it helps others.

Would think  £700. Due to  condition of the  bodywork 

The long-ish MOT helps and nice to see an honest advert. Without an MOT I would have said @£500 as basis for an expensive resto but now 'modern' classics are making crazy money so who knows?   

Thanks for the replie's guys. Its a difficult one as like u say the prices are going up but it needs alot of work. The fact that its drivable with an MOT is why I priced it in between a resonable one and a shell/unroadworthy trailer away job. I think £700 is abit low as its usable and in theory u could fix the mechanical bits and drive it as is as i've done if u dont mind abit of a rust bucket look. Anyway I got alot of offers mainly around 1500-1700 but thats from the advert no ones viewed it in person as yet.

Yeah Richard that rear right wing is where almost all the rust is and the under the rear light/boot. Im not sure what happened in its past but the other side is rust free. Probably needs the whole wing cut out not sure.

It's had a hard life it seems, might be best to put it on eBay?
