Removing connectors.

Post

Hi,

I have a two pin and three pin connectors.

How do I remove the pins for these one? Normally there's a locking tab on the bottom. For these I'm not sure. 20190623_130311_1.jpg 20190623_130251_1.jpg connector.jpg

insert a small screwdriver and depress the locking tab - those small jewelers screwdrivers are ideal. Helps to pull gently on the wire at the same time.

My rebuild thread I will try and keep up to date: here

If you don't have a AMP connector flat pin extractor that is the easiest way to do it.  You can push the latch pins in so much that you then have to pull them out a tad to relatch them.

You insert the Screw driver in from the front of the connector to "pick or depress the latch" then gently tug the wires from the rear and it should come out the back.

Thanks Brian where are the latch pins? I'm struggling to find that

I've no experience with this particular connector and it's a poor pic, but does this help? It looks like the tab circled is pulled away from the terminal to release

That pic is the latching pin that is circled, you push it up away from the direction of the arrow. Or you push it up to the main body of the pin.

Thanks for this thread. It is helpful to know what to do if such things happen
