Not my cup of tea but if they were all the same they'd be boring!
Best of luck with it Rich. I do like the seats you bought. I was tempted by them myself.
In London on Saturday with it?

lhasadreams - Thanks Mate, I am happy with it, just wana do a few tweaks and get out in it before weather changes. With no heater, demister etc, the drive to Malvern could be fun, you know what the weathers like by then :-)
n2cus - Thanks Mate, in truth I didn't know 100% if it was for me, loved the look, but it is a niche car, and had some fairly substantial mod's done, but I think I can make it my own
crapitsanton - Thanks mate, never thought of that colour on a Mk1 before to be fair, always wanted Miami or Florida Blue but I loved it on old M3's and think it works well, its a bit like the R32 blue, nice colour and works on a number of cars and shapes, your is looking cracking mate, great find !

I remember X5PEA's build thread, must be in good condition still!
The wheels look big but I didn't think they were 17s so not so bad.
What's your thoughts then on the tintop/floppy top argument now (That said, you've not sampled the original rawness/amazingness of a standard GTI )

Was this the one we were chatting about at the AGM?
Once the interiors in I think it will be spot on!
It's missing the obligatory richyhill folder? Lol
You best get making one for the back shelf!
Look forward to seeing and hearing this in the flesh
I've got an itch for a tintop too now!!

PS - Cabby's are still not girly, its just bald guys who cant get the wind in their hair or guys that cant pull it off that slate cabby owners
lhasadreams - Like a ceramic heater mate? Yeah might consider that moving forward. I probably need to change battery as it has a tiny one in it just to kick engine at mo, but if I wana run heater and a stereo then will need to up the size I think
watson - Thank you mate, you joined the committee yet? ? :-) . Funnily enough I have considered chrome bumpers etc but got no £'s left now and need to source door cards and fit interior etc first, so might be a consideration next year. Will look to sell buckets as they are really comfy and super light and then maybe the composite bumpers as well to raise funds for chrome bumpers if I go down that route
P0jy - It is the one we were chatting about at AGM mate, lol, I have started the folder already! that tin top itch catches you eventually mate, but I don't even know yet, once I have driven it for a while especially next summer I will know if I miss the cabby more
scottyr1 - Thanks mate, hoping the interior will look sweet when done, the wheels are deffo marmite to people
