Thanks for the info Richy. I have already had my new golf ceramic coated with gtechnic products and bought some myself to keep it looking good. Very impressed with there stuff so far.  Will definitely pop a long on friday in the mk1. Will be going to get its new engine fitted finally in a few weeks.  So trying to use it as much as i can before its new engine fitted.  Will you be in the mk1?

Well just over two years on from when I started this thread in April 2017, I am nearly there

Copies  What my plans were back then and what's done:

 So what's the master plan ? ….

 1) Original early single lamp chrome grill - (Got a new NOS one waiting for me to collect from Funk Star, aka classic vw) ✅

 2) Postie rear lights (Got these from Faisal, just need to be fitted) ✅, but running all red rears at mo and need to decide what to keep

 3) Remove clipper kit and fit chrome bumpers ✅

 4) Chrome fuel cap, flag mirrors and any other trims needed once chrome bumpers are on ✅

 5) Re fit some speakers in rear door cards and get rid of 6x9's in parcel shelf ✅

 6) Fit some large late cabby speaker pod/pockets i have, to front door cards ✅

 7) Get some new standard badges for tailgate and fit ❌

8) Fit CL or GTI lip on front once chrome small bumper on, and get magnetic front number plate for bottom of valance so can show plate-less on front ✅

Then longer terms plans are

 9) Change box (as still running 020), to 02J / 02M / better box and go hydraulic clutch or cable conversion thing of Toldeo ✅ 02J fitted

 10) Work out if i can get some fifteen 52 snowflakes with ET30 to fit without needing and arch trims (really want these wheels on it) ✅✅✅😍

 11) Fit a simple and not to expensive air ride system ✅

The air ride still needs arches rolled and chassis notch before I can work on pre sets not manual.

Also unfortunately the paint is gona need sorting as has some issues , but Mits530 bodyshop he used to work at have said they will sort that , so hoping to get that booked in this winter

Let's be honest they will never be "done" but it's getting there

Roll on the AGM 2019 🍻

Yes, that's my yellow cabby, bought off a member here and undergoing a slow mechanical overhaul as the body was done previously. Got a brand new set of Ronal Turbos to fit as a bit of bling but otherwise will leave as is.

So update on the cabby …

Sep 2020 and some criminals running from the police ended up hitting some cars outside my work including the cabby 👎🏼, damage wasn't very bad though and repairable

So I took the accident as an opportunity to put my own stamp on the car , it was Porsche grey when I bought it and I have always loved a yellow cabby

So I went "all in" - genuine new wing , lots of body work , genuine Votex roof rack painted and fitted , interior changed from the Porsche Boxster S electric seats to re trimmed Ford RS Recaro fronts with rear bench to match in GTI stripe cloth and a few others tweaks 👍 31715D9E-FDA6-4370-931A-B8D49441F7D8.jpeg 5DB7F54D-2C45-41CA-A2C8-24FC7CEDDCFD.jpeg AA97CE92-5412-42A5-A6F2-0F6523917038.jpeg 0D4B0F3A-714E-45FE-94BF-3B0643D82286.jpeg 223DDC10-01F8-48D1-8BA2-822D2F4728D7.jpeg 583197A1-6698-4899-8505-8379FC3C7670.jpeg 36DC6920-637F-4746-88EB-C3E653114F4C.jpeg 1C80360D-FF90-4D11-8042-46973DE19989.jpeg 00AB12B8-499F-447C-8D67-F3CCB314D44D.jpeg 355BDEAE-B33D-456E-981A-5BE9E8767FBE.jpeg 12B8425A-3233-4C6A-BA91-EDC28F984794.jpeg DE804984-7F95-4DDD-80F7-0D01ABAF398F.jpeg 395A49C6-6415-41FB-8958-F2DA8A09997F.jpeg B3807915-E151-444E-B077-4229328CD540.jpeg 1C203374-F9B7-4EFD-890A-0D5A0FE9150F.jpeg

I didn’t expect the volume of cars that did turn up on a hot Friday but it was a great experience to see how they film this part of the show and both Mike and Elvis were chuffed I attended as the car being sold was a yellow mk 3.5 Golf. Lots of great car people in attendance too so I was pleased I went along.
