I will keep the thread updated next year when i sort the widths out and consider small amount of lowering perhaps.
Was funny at AGM when we got aload of sportlines lined up as everyone else's pritty much had been lowered to some extent so mine was sat up high like a 4x4 :-)

Chop the arch a little and lower it and your on to a winner
dont really wana chop arches, but once i start using it a bit more the wheels might just chop the arches themselfs lol
Wheels looking deadly…
What is the handling like with the rm alloys?
As you say a small drop will look the biz.
Dont really know about handling yet Hugh as only had a small drive and was to worried to put it into a corner hard incase it rubbed on back :-) , but will let you know how i get on , its def a little harded due to the tyres and widths
Are they defo 9.5's on the rear as they look the same as mine at 8.5". Have you actually measured them? A 9.5" wheel will measure approx 10.5" overall as the rim width is the measurement from where the tyre bead sits on the inside of the rim.
Look lovely though mate, good price?
i havnt measured them mate lol, so will at some point they may be 8.5, but pritty sure as fronts are 8's the rears are much bigger, but again havnt measured fronts, were yours def RM'S also the offset of dishes would change how they look and sit out
Price was ok and they were local so i could pay cash, no bank transfers for people who wont except payment by paypal :-( which is what drew me to them really. Im usually a perfectionist and would wana refurb em straight away but with some Autosol and a new set on centre badges which are on order they are presentable , i dont think i will loose on em as people are always after a set

Look similar to me, defo not an inch wider.
Mine are defo RM's. The only way to change width is on the outer rim as the basket is fixed. Changing outers only affects the outer so if yours are an inch wider then it would only show on the outer.

Thanks mate, its got a few bits here and there which need paint eventually but it not looking to bad for polishing work by hand :-)
think after i get a DA polisher it should be even better, also will give me a chance to do the daily 520D as that looking like it needs some serious tlc on the paint !

So was saving the £80 odd needed for a new set of rear badges from Greece dealer that sells them ,when i managed to win a brand new Volkswagen one for £3 on ebay and the circle VW and GolfGTI one for about £7 which were in VGC so for £10 sorted :-)
Also a few months ago i won some VGC Karman badges at just £15 for the pair.
Have some holiday to use so took the day off today and as Bristol was sunny finally got round to fitting them, few pics from today:
