Decided to make up a more permanent means of moving the car around which meant the bay was easier to get around when painting.

Bit of box section & heavy duty wheels mounted to the wishbone captive bolts did the job.

Gave everything a good clean down and the garage ready for painting. Bit more sanding to do though :( gallery_23668_521_61723.jpg gallery_23668_521_202135.jpg gallery_23668_521_220984.jpg gallery_23668_521_464220.jpg   gallery_23668_521_972975.jpg

Cheers chap, the wife keeps reminding me how long I'm taking doing it

All time consuming stuff and I want to get it spot on.

Yesterday I checked out the epoxy and its set nice and hard :)missed a few spots so sorted those out.

I wasn't expecting the epoxy to be so glossy so was tricky to see where I've been.

Managed to clean and acid etch the alternator mount yesterday.

Does anyone have some tips on how to spray the engine bay, particularly the lower sections?

How would they do it in a body shop, under the chassis legs and in the front corners?

I wouldn't worry your making fast progress! Mines been way too long and I've not even started any bodywork yet.

Got some epoxy on the inside to seal the bulkhead where I welded the holes. Should be pretty well protected now with both sides sealed :)Will eventually spray the entire interior but I bet you guys are getting fed up of not seeing any engine in the bay so it can wait for now :lol:Yesterday I brushed the epoxy on to get in all the difficult to reach locations, mainly the mounts for the dashboard and knew the coverage wouldn't be great due to the dark base colour.

So this morning I sprayed a second coat, much nicer :) gallery_23668_521_98402.jpg gallery_23668_521_163911.jpg

Been on holiday for a couple weeks so started to get back on it :)Started the filler work, put some primer on to highlight areas which need more attention. Boy this is time consuming stuff! hoping to get the sanding done this weekend so the high build can go on next weekend.

It's ridiculous how much time a smooth bay takes!! But it will be well worth it once finished when it looks awesome.

Almost there now, I put some primer on to check levels and imperfections and can see a few bits I need to look at but winning at least :) gallery_23668_521_260424.jpg

Superb build thread Rich, utterly addictive.

Huge respect for the work you are doing and size of the conversion. Fantastic.

Look forward to further updates and seeing the finished car.
