What model and year loom are you looking for? There are about 10 different fuse boxes!

Hi

There are only early and late type fuse boxes from my research but obviously alot of looms depending on what electrical extras you may have had/not had.

Ideally am after a complete loom from a GTI circa 1983 but was going to start with a dashboard loom as they are common to have been cut and messed around with.

Sweet! Would be nice to see some progress on this, esp for an 83' gti.

I'd like to replace all the looms in mine as it's been messed about with a lot.

Following with interest…..

Just come across this thread, I'd be really interested in an 83 GTi engine bay loom (inc MFA) for my current restoration. Would need to be absolutely identical to original, but £200 would not be an unreasonable price in my opinion.

Hi

Thought i would update this thread. Still working on this and the loom is now with our wiring guys.

Ive got to spend some time sourcing all the plugs adn connecters. Alot have gone NLA so its going to take some work. Hopefully i can find replacements/reproductions to use.

Will keep updating when i know more

Hi did you manage to make a loom?  As last post was last year. Could you let me know as desperate for full loom for 83' got.mine is lhd.full loom and dude box is boxed and ready to be posted.A company who specializes in classic car looms that I spoke to at last year's classic car show at Birmingham NEC said that they didn't have a mk1 golf loom in their catalogue said that if I gave them my full loom they would make me one for free as they then would have  the design.BUt after having it for 3 months they sent it back saying that they could not get some of the connectors as they are obsolete .Surely the connectors  can't be that hard to find.Anyway let me know either way as I'm desperate now.cheers

White lhd 83 MK1 golf gti (long project)
Blue rhd 83 mk1 golf gti (weekend toy)
 Skoda roomster (Daily)
