Exhaust details, link shows 1983 1.8 GTI but works for all cars. Good for details like what hangers/clamps are needed;
TecDoc

Dash lights; (and other blubs too for those that like to drive around with maxy-p blue headlights and LEDs festooned everywhere)
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/standard-dashboard-and-panel-bulbs-for-cars/

Trim parts, mainly older Brit cars but some good stuff;
http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/DEFAULT.ASPX

Cabrio Electrical info; (US based but some good stuff)
http://www.cabby-info.com/electrical.htm

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Hi JB,

I posted this back in Feb:
http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=members-lounge_2%2Ffound-a-vw-golf-parts

But that's for members, so if anyone wants to try this Company in France they are welcome.
Very friendly and they do post Internationally.

You can write to them in English which helps.
People may find something they need!

I bought some door cards form a place up north called Retro-Retrims. They were really good, they have a ebay shop and the guy does loads of work on mk1 golfs, he has retrimmed seats by salvaging orginal cloth and all sorts.
I am no way affiliated with him, just a happy customer and noticed that he's always trimming interiors for mk1 golfs.

Chubnut or GPC as they are known.
Nearly everything he sells are still available from the dealers.The price he starts the auction at 9 times out of 10, is the price you can buy it from the dealers.
Save a few quid and pop to your local dealer.

Here's a site that will tell you lots of useful info on build date. It has a vin decoder and gives month of build info. Also lots of other useful info. It seems like a German equivalent of this site.
