I may know someone who may be able to do it for you, I would have to find out for you.
I would do it myself, but don't like the idea of doing timing belt on someone else's car, incase there is problems.
Or the garage I take mine to for mot etc, when I don't do the work myself is very close to you.

Though it might be a problem getting it there after I wrote it. It's shore service station in brittania/shawforth. I got my timing belt on the mk2,done.
What is the car doing? Is it running at all? Have you messed with any of the timing? Is it just turning over and not firing?

It wasn't until someone on here asked if I had been messing around with the plug leads, that I realised I had put them back in the wrong order, thought I would post just in case…..

Try the link above, shows you how to do the dizzy and leads. I think the rotor arm is keyed so can't really put it on wrong. Are you sure that you put it all back on in the correct order?Have you had a timing light on it? Have you also checked the coil. When mine did that it was the coil. Can't really see it being anything to do with the cambelt, if you haven't messed with it. Cambelt was done a couple of years back now, but I've been going there for about 20 years, johns ok.
