New golf Gti - tell me the standard specification please

hi there, last week I picked up an 81 Gti in Mars red.

im trying to figure which spec it left the factory.

single lamp grill
13" tarantula alloys?
wind deflectors on the windows?

what engine is the 1.6?
which injection system does it use? K-jet?

looking for som basic information any help would be appreciated.

Check the sticker in the boot for your codes the you could find out for sure 

Yes it would have been a 1.6 I think and it will be running kjet

You could apply for the Car's Birth Certificate from VW.

This is available for about 50 Euro's and should answer your questions in full.. Here is an example, this one belongs to Nigel our Engineer and was for his GT Beetle.

Sorry, my error. But then the first S2s did not come with the A-pillar trims so depends when OPs car was built.

Little thread bump here.

heres the car with some freshly painted Vag wings fitted.
Car hasn't been washed in months :( new carpets fitted, fresh gti decals in the post.
outer sills also have been bare metal'd stone chipped and painted again

hopefully it has an M.o.t by next month!

Talk to https://www.volkswagenstickers.co.uk/ - they're really helpful and I'm sure would supply you stripes for the lower wing, as opposed to the full kit  :thumbs:
