Back in late October 2014 we had a sudden but large snow storm with about 30 cm's in 12 hours and my white Mk1 Cabby was parked in a parking space but adjacent to the road.

I was at work when I got a phone call from the Police asking if I could move my car because in the blizzard conditions the snow plough nearly took my car out!

So I rushed back home to see a bank of snow all the way down the d/s and up to the door handle, he missed it by about 4 inches!

Love this pic…. not helping my choice of whether to keep my Mk1 silver D7DDECC9-DD99-4E79-AF75-73CE26F3C9AB-10329-00000E6103B9CF0B.jpeg …anyone know what colour (code) this is?

Mars red, they have used a filter/photoshop the picture so it's not in true colours you would see.

Very hard to tell from that doctored photo what the color code might be.

Looks like a 'Mars Red' but which one because from memory I think there's 2 or 3 versions of it.

Also if it it's been replayed did they use the correct paint code and so on…. ;)

Oh you lucky guy, many of us Mk1 owners dream about having a garage like that.

Although I have a good chance of renting one dead cheap this year with a little luck! ;l

By the way and I know I've said it before but you've got a cracking Mk1 there.

Hope that works out for you, mike. I rent a garage for mine. A lot of money but it's nothing on what the depreciation on a new car would be

Yeah absolutely!
It's a secure underground parking spot for £30 per month the whole year round just over the road from me.

As I'm having to go into early pension because of my health for now it's doable but for me now it's all about the pennies so time will tell if I can even keep my mk1.

Certainly don't want it to fall into disrepair! ;)

Hoping it works out good buddy. The health is the important thing of course  it is but hopefully your beloved car doesn't have to be sacrificed.
