knocking noise when i drop the clutch ?????

anyone had a knocking noise when you dump clutch and pull away ? it happens through all the gears….and its not the engine mounts and nothing feels loose down there !
got an awful feeling its the gearbox, but would appreciate any advice from the members.
cheers

neither it seems to be something else.
should probably said that the knock only happens once through each gear so as i first accelerate it knocks once then after changing to the next gear it knock again but only once for each gear change either up or down…this is gonna be a hair puller.

I had this on a my old clipper once… sometimes when moving off or changing gear when the engine wouldn't be torqued it would squeak - a round metal gasket that goes in the join between the manifold and the downpipe needed to be replaced and that sorted it out…

Cheers Hugh.

Do you recall if this is the part you fitted to the exhaust?
