New Thermostat taller than original

Post

Heyo chaps - bought a new thermostat as my old one was a bit knackered - the new one seems a lot taller than the original.

I got this one:

Is the added height gonna affect the water flow around the pump? Should I look for a smaller profile one?

My old thermostat was 36MM and the new one is 52MM  from base to the top of the dome.

Any help greatly appreciated, car is currently sat with no thermostat so it's not ideal!

Should go right in, there is plenty of room.  Before you install it you might want to drill a small 1/8 inch hole in the LIP of the t-stat to prevent the air bubble effect so no air bubble can occur, and since you have it out now would be a great time to flush and back flush your engine /cooling system, I have a how to int he archive section, just click the link on my signature line,
