Cabrio Electric roof system - year unknown

Post

Edited for clarity and thanks to Chortle for putting me straight.

Electric roof mechanism which was fitted to the previous hood on my car.

It came with my car when I bought it and is untested but looks to be in good condition.

I’ve no interest in fitting it and I believe it may have been a retro fit to my car in the first place.

Comes with the following:

Console switch panel
All wiring from fuse box to rear of car including the 4 relays
Pump and hydraulic struts plus some of the linkage system with oil in the reservoir to correct level

No real ideal on value but if I’ve got to put a price on it £200 collected from Chorley, Lancashire.

Happy to chat if I am way off the mark price wise, its surplus to requirements and taking up space.

I could possibly post at buyers expense as it’s all boxed up.

That is not for a 88 cabby.
You’re missing parts from the set up so it’s not complete.
The manual frame is NOT compatible with the power set up.
The frames are very different.
Manual frame has locking mechanism built into the frame to hold it down whereas the hydraulic rams do this on a power hood. Anyone wanting to use this would need all the body cuts and brackets etc for the mounts and a power top frame to go with it.
This would require a lot of work welding wise and the costs of the power frame on top.

Ah okay, thanks for letting me know.

It was just what I was told when I bought it.

Learning as I go on these cabs!

No worries
I see this all the time on cars mate.
It’s not straight forward to do a swap.
But you’re missing brackets for the pump.
There’s brackets that hold the rams to the body.
And you’re only showing one hinge arm when there’s a pair needed.
There was an aftermarket kit for early cars but they are few and far between and most are knacked.
Not even parts from later cars are any good as they’re all wrong sizes Etc
