Engine coolant sensor

Can those tell me im trying to identify the two sensors on the engine coolant flange  . Is  one the temp sensor for the Monitoring/management(brown block connector type)  and the other one in  front  the sender to the Dash display? Screenshot_20191209-210606.jpg

Black is the water temp sender to the gauge in the console.

The Brown one is for the 16V CTS sensor that goes to the ecm for engine management.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

I think the brown one is the thermo-time switch (or is that the one round the back of the inlet manifold) anyway, it is part of the control for the 5th injector and warm-up regulator. That is all assuming it's an 8v K-jet…

Yes paceman .Its a kjet    1.8 8v  gti dx lump  that it came off ..So it was accociated with cold start feature?

yes the brown one is thermoswitch for 5th injector for the cold start system.

CTS on cis-e, motronic, digifant etc is smaller and white in colour
