Dash wires?

Post

Got a few things not working properly in the cluster.
But I'm loath to take the clocks out again as all the essentials are working.
I'm just changing the indicator F0543BF4-3842-4F3D-B91B-1ED1C25E5943.jpeg switch and I notice this plug is not in its home? Any thoughts?

Nothing to do with hazards is it...?

No.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I am happy to be told otherwise,  but If memory serves I think that's off the back of the dash heater matrix control panel and powers the bulb that illuminates it at night.

Yep I was right - I knew I would have a photo somewhere! I always take photos when I take stuff apart in case I forget!

See this photo for where it belongs!

Same plug, different wires.
I fixed the heater lights just the other day!
Thanks mate for the help though.

Same as but different! I think it must be from the back of your cluster - I found it in this photo - see it bundled up with the cluster/Speedo wiring

That's it!
Where does it live, is the next question.
Thanks mate.

Hmmm. How about the full beam indicator?

looking at the bentley those are colors of wires that go to the MFA.

MFA seems to work.
The readings are a bit unbelievable though I must admit.
I just don't want to disturb the dash now almost everything is working. Certainly enough for it to be the daily.
Hmmm. Thanks though mate.

yes that plugs into the back of the cluster, its for the late type mfa clocks without the 1/2 knob on the front.

the wires are the 1/2 switch and reset feeds from the late type stalk with the extra switch on it

Not all clocks have a socket for it, mine does but I have tried earlier clocks in the car without somewhere to put this plug and it didn't seem to make a blind bit of difference

Early clocks in late car is fine because the 1/2 select knob is on the front. Late clocks in an early car still work but you can't select between mode 1 and 2 unless you add the later stalk and extra 2 wires from it
