Does anyone know how I can seperate the transmission mount from its bracket?

This is is on a 1993 Cabriolet. I'm part way through replacing the engine mounts and have hit a snap.

I've remove the Transmission-side engine mount and bracket (the round one under the air intake, not the square one on the bottom of the car) but I can't figure out how to seperate them to put the new mount into the bracket.

I soaked it in WD40 and gave it a few whacks with a hammer but it didn't budge.

Would anyone know how to do this?

cut out the rubber insert hacksaw
through the metal outer sleeve
collapse it with a chisel press in
using a vice

Do not know a lot but willing to help if possible

They're pressed in really tight. Either hacksaw a slot in the outer sleeve as above or grind a slot using a die grinder. Its more difficult with a hacksaw because you'll start hack sawing the bracket before you break through the middle of the sleeve.

Thanks for the advice all. I ended up taking the bracket and new mount to a mechanic who removed/fitted them  with an hydraulic press.

Hope they are in the right way round, top /bottom, not side to side ;)

You've done the right thing taking it somewhere, I managed to get one out, but there was no way I was getting back in - even with a big vice - hydraulic press was the answer!
