Electrics is not my strong point

Hi
Posted this in the help section but realised its eletrical so might be better posted here.

I have an 81 golf L 1.1 with a few wires that im sure arent right and electrics isnt my strong point.

Firstly there is no wires attached to the master cylinder but there is 2 yellow and blue wires taped up nearby. 20190418_212756.jpg

The taped wires are attached to these

Also these wires have nowhere to plug into a twin red and black wires

2 wires under the expansion tank that are red/yellow and red/brown.

A blue/white wire in the same area

Also would anyone know if these sensors are correct as everyones 1.1/1.3 engine ive looked at on here, doesnt have them, neither did my 78 1.1 golf n. Also there isnt any plug/socket to plug into them (i do have them on my cabby but that the 1.8 engine).

Sorry to repeat this on 2 forums but i should have put on here in the first place

Thanks in advance for any help.

I pulled apart the tapped wires and the colours are blue, blue/black, yellow and yellow red and only the red/yellow has power if you put a bulb on it but very faint.

What are these sender units for, are they oil temp and pressure for the dash lights as the wires are all joined up near the master cylinder.

I posted in your other thread, but I'll add info for the extra wires here :)

black/blue and yellow are for the oil pressure switches on the rear of the head, looks liek the original car wiring loom only had the 1.8 bar blue/black oil switch and this is joined with the wire tap thing.

You may need to swap the 2 wires over on the actual oil switches, as the donor car was a late mk2/polo which have wire colours switched vs mk1.

So the MK1 blue/black wire needs to go to the high pressure switch, either black 1.4 bar or white 1.8 bar. the low pressure switch blue 0.25 or brown 0.3bar is not used on your loom, but if it had the wire it would be yellow (this may already have been done as part of the swap)

the yellow/red wire is dash temp, locate the 2 pin black sensor on your engine and run it to that, the 2nd pin needs an earth. looking again at the 2 sensors in your coolant flange the one on the right may be black, if so thats the one you need :)
