He may be able to assist you.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

I’ve heard he’s the main man to see for this work but he’s a fare distance from where I live
If there’s no one else closer I may have to plan a long distance repair.

I'm in Basingstoke RG24,
I'm scared of attempting to fit a new roof myself so I'm not sure If anyone would accept fitting a second hand one on my behalf?the metalwork on the rear qaurters is salvageable on mine, there maybe other parts of your car I would be interested if your not that far away?

open boot and look at underside of the parcel shelf metal side supports. peel and unhook headliner and pull out inside the car. this gives you access to all the frame fixings and the rear hood tension cable. remove the nuts so cable can be release from the shell, then pull hood material out from the metal lip. tuck it in, and protect with covering and heat matting for welding and painting where appropriate
if you dont have enough room at the lower corner of the rear window then carefully remove the rubber seal by first pushing ends inwards till they release from palstic outer clips then pull out. remove the metal seal channels, then carefully peel hood off the metal frame.
Or you might prefer to remove the hood from the car entirely while work is done, if so all the hood fixings are accessible once headliner is pulled in at the back
