Welcome to the club first of all.

Can I take that you want to buy one?
If so I move your post to the 'Parts Wanted' section.

As you may know by now good ones don't come cheap, so how much are you looking at spending roughly?

Ah OK I'll move it to to parts wanted.

The only reason I ask is I did see a guy in Austria had one for sale claiming he had one in new condition (one man's opinion and all that).

But this guy had about 5 different steering wheels available if I remember correctly and they all looked mint.

He was a collector and had dicided to sell his whole collection.
He had 2 Mk1 steering wheels but they were going for a bit more than you're looking to spend plus post.

I can try to find the adverts if you want but you need to speak German and hope he would post to the UK.

Why do I know all this?
I've lived in Vienna, Austria for the last 24 years!
And when the adverts are on small websites so is the mentality!

Shot in the dark, which is probably what I deserve. ;)

hopefully some good chap/chapess may have a nice one wanting a new home ? Anymore than 200quid will start divorce proceedings I reckon ? Maybe you could go into Austrian negotiation for me Wouldn't mind seeing the link though.
Stupid question but do you know if the mk1 spline etc is the same as a T25 ? I'm told it is ?

Pretty sure T25's are the same spline, theyre the same era as mk1's and mk2's aren't they?

What year is it?

She's a 1988 vintage and from what I can gather the only mod is to add 3 off 5mm spacers on the column to get the indicator tab to get the signal cancel to engage ?

About 15 years ago I went to a scrap yard which had about 20 of those steering wheels on a rack and he wanted £20 each, wish I bought them all as the price has gone up so much on them, the scrap yard is no longer there as it was a great place for VW stuff.

The steering wheels do turn up on eBay but be careful as they did a dark brown version as well and sometimes the pictures make them look black.
