Stud help

HI all I have bought a set of BBS rims from a BMW the studs that were supplied with the wheels lock up the rear drums on my 1992 Cabriolet. They are to long could I use the studs from the MK2 Golf ?

Studs?  Golfs used Bolts.

Stock wheels
bolts M12X1,5X23,5

Alloy: M12X1,5X23,5

So i would suspect if yours aren't those values, then yes they are too long…… Now with that said, you may have to increase the length a tad, as I do know that some manufacturers of rims or wheels vary the length of the mounting lip, and that you have to increase the length of the bolt…

One quick test is to take the drum off and mount the wheel to the drum and see the protrusion of the bolt to the drum and cut the bolt flush if they are "special" ones or use standard bolts and have the tops Polished.

There isn't much of a protrusion may be one thread standardly.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

E30 wheels need tapered seat bolts so the VW ones are no good anyway. use oem BMW bolts they will do the job fine, they're roughly 25mm long
