New Weber Carburettor

Post

Important!

Recommendation badly needed!

I've been contacted by our new friend and member from Chile sbertoni Stefeno!

It's best that I share the whole message with you all as I'm working off my Smartphone so I'm not really able to play the editing game but I think he needs our advice in a hurry. 😉

"Hi Golf Cabrio, first of all thank you for the help you have given me in the thread I did to introduce myself. In this time I wanted to contact you personally for help. As I posted before I have a VW Golf Cabriolet 1990 1.8L 4C SOHC which comes with a Pierburg 2E2 which has been giving me a lot of problems as you probably have had. I want to swap it for a Weber one. I have a chilean friend that lives in Netherlands and is coming to chile in 15 days so Im looking for where to buy the correct carb. Ive contacted werk34 but still havent heard form them for days so I want to start searching other sellers. The first thing is identifying which one should I buy. Ive heard its supposed to be a WEBER 32/34DMTL but Im really not sure! This is why I wanted to ask you personally for help. First to know if you know that is exactly the model I need and second if you know where could I buy it in Netherlands or Germany?? If you wouldnt know of sellers in those countries my second option would be buying it in somewhere in europe and shipping it to germany but my problem is it would cost more and im not sure if i could make it on time. Well that is my issue, I would really appreacite you help!! Thank you! Hope to hear from you. Best, Stefano bertoni.stefano@gmail.com Santiago, Chile"

When you reply please remember to Cc Stefano! 😉 👍🏼

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

For a UK car it's a WEBER 32/34DMTL if it had a Pierburg 2E2.

I can't say for sure if a Chile car would be the same?

I know of a couple of UK suppliers.

My Mk1 Golf is fuel injectored and my 1978 Mk1 Scirocco had a Zenith carb before I changed to a Webber Carb so not had any experience with a 1990's Golf with a Pierburg 2E2.

Did you manage? We use weber dcd7 36 carb(in South Africa at altitude),you will just need to put an adaptor between carb and manifold. For economy you can use the following:
We use weber 38 for racingweber 36 dcd7

Don't forget there's a difference for auto and manual as well.
