Dual DHLA carbs with OG Fram filter box

Post

Ever seen it ?

Hello all,

I recently acquired the content of a VW MK1 MK2 dismantler who closed for over 20 years ago.
The premises old recently and I was contacted to buy the content.

Lots of dust and rusted pieces you can imagine.

What Found was an interesting piece I never have seen before.
The son of the owner remembered removing these from a MK2 16V engine.

A dual set of DHLA with an OG FRAM air filter box. See photo below
It has a cast air filter box hosing and and a metal cover which houses the air filter element
The small linkage is still there.
Unfortunately it is missing it's manifold and it's air filter clamps.

Any one ever seen this setup - I also attached a link of a more modern similar setup: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4764129

Is this a VW setup at all ?

If you run the numbers on the carbs then it should help identify if they were car specific or for general 'tuning' use.

I have seen something similar on a small block set up, but if IRC it was from an Opel or something similar.

Cool stuff though! I prefer Dellorto's to Webers and there are many out there that feel the same.

~Manifolds are still being made…………. You planning on using it? would be very cool
