How much primer to coat a shell

As per the title, having my shell blasted inside and out and I've asked the blaster to put a protective layer of primer on it in the meantime while I fix any cancer.

the blaster has asked me to supply the primer, which is fine, but not sure how much to get.

any experience of this?
