AHU conversion

Howdy folks, just stripped a vw sharan I had of its engine and box Just wondered if its complicated fitting it to a 1981 golf cabby ? Mechanically I'm not worried just the loom end of things. I dont know anything about diesels and I see people swap these over to mechanical TDI .Any info appreciated. Many thanks.

Thought I posted this earlier anyhoo. I've labelled all connections to engine, I'm trying to sort out which  wiring I don't need like headlight , wipers, etc .Do I start stripping the tape from the loom and try see what's going to ecu and bin everything else ?  I presume I need some connections left in that go to the fuse box ? Which ones ?

Been sifting thru old threads, project builds etc and I'm none the wiser regarding what I need off this loom, all the transplants seem to be installed without any posts regarding what wire goes where, Been looking at mtdi also, am I tight I'm thinking that I can use an aaz pump gtd boost pin and go away with ecu altogether
