Thanks matey, yeah I'm in too deep with them now…. specially adding tyres, they're staying!.

Really hope to get the engine in the car in June. 

But my house is like a building site/mud bath right now… costs are spiralling.

But I put some tyres on the car, charger is back this week, things are moving… albeit at a snails pace. 

I'd bought a mk2, engine converted it and sold it within the time it's taken me to get the swallow to this stage.

Any progress is good progress… and c'mon, there's no better break away from a Mk1 than a Mk2.  

Test fitted the charger with the 5pk rib belt kit and 70mm pulley, tight like a tiger!! 

Charger looks like a diamond stuck in a turd. 

I might move this on if anyone wants it as I've been made redundant. 

I can get it to engine in stage. 

Will just need wiring, plumbing in and intercooler etc. 

Message me if anyone is gen interested and I can run down everything I have. 

Box back on and chucked it in the car, started mocking the water pipes and stuff on etc. 

Lots more to do…. but it's a step closer.

No I'll move it on with the right offer… but I'll still progress it as and when I can. 

Just read the build from start to finish, I like it alot.
I do love a G40 as I had one for my first car.

I cant believe yours came out of a breadvan, I'd of been tempted to keep that as well.

Cheers man, Yeah that was my mates old Polo GT that he converted to G40… It was sat for a while on his driveway as he BAM converted his mk1 Caddy.

I snapped it up.. I would have kept it or sold it on, but the Polo was rotten, it went to the scrapyard in the sky.  

This has now been broken and sold off in parts.

Sad days, the rolling shell leaves me on sunday!

Still have the wheels if anyone is interested.


I'll hang around here still tho… I like it here.
