Mk1 Caddy 1.8T

Always ment to do a build thread on one of my cars so here goes. My newly aquired Mk1 Caddy going 1.8t! :)

How it was as it arrived at the paintshop. Lucky for me the previous owner kept it in good nick and even cleaned out the engine bay. Can't take credit for it unfortunately…

The transplant of choice: 1.8T AGU running standard management.

I'll be keeping an eye on this build as I'm just starting the same conversion into a caddy too. As you've done this before I may be picking your brains as I go along.

Ok!
Here are some of the bits I have to hand and could get to today:

A nice new Intercooler

A Converted Hydraulic Clutch Pedal

More Hydraulic Clutch…

An Accelerator Pedal to adjust Cable position i believe

Corrado Pedal set up

An airfilter of sorts

A Seat Ibiza 1.8T Downpipe

Mk4 Golf Gear Selector

Gearbox Mounts

Fuel Pump and Holder

Additional odds and sods

Wheels Completed

Loom should arrive tomorrow and then i'll start piecing it all together on the floor. Then i'll look into Timing belt and water pump etc…

The collection is coming along nicely. Looks like the air filter could do with replacing mate. :)

Yeah, it sure does. But not til last. Idea is to get it all together and in as neatly as possible and go minimally flash at the end. Looking into exhaust and intercooler pipework now. Got some big front brakes too somewhere. Now the sun is out (ish) it should come together. Maybe get a bit of powder coating on a few bits or take them off to the paint shop.

Give me a shout if you need any ideas mate. I got my intercooler pipework from the states and my exhaust is a Jetex one.

Send me a PM if you like.

I have just put a 1.8t in my caddy and used intercooler pipes mainly from volvo ones from the breakers , loads to choose from.I also mdified the inlet to the turbo to remove the sharp bend right by the inlet . I straightened it out and it is nowentering the turbo from under the master cylinder. If I rember right this mod was worth about 20 hp on the integrales.
