Nice Motor nearly as much rust as mine lol nothing that cant be fixed though im sure. Good luck

i started on a set of wheels before i got the car to see how good my spraying is

 




then i started on a S1 dash which needed alot of work



still got a lot to do on it i'm thinking of covering it in carbon fibre

todays update
took out the brake system and gear box linkage


then the rear windows found some rust around the seals it looks like surface rust so not that bad i think?



does anyone know how to remove the tailgate/do i need a special tool for it??

now thinking can i save the tailgate from the bin
 

another day at the office    

got the rear axle off then started to cut out the fuel filler repair panel looks ok will is how good it is once i've welded it in




was thinking should i repair rear tub where it meets the fuel filler panel ??

then started cutting out the rear left hand arch and matching it up to the repair panel


then started striping out the sound deafening got half way through it and ran out of juice  



thats it for today

hi all need some advise on what engine to put in her? thinking a 1.8T,1.4tsi g60 or find an 1.8 k injet an put her back to how she was. when i got she had no guts LOL

You're making good progress there.  Did you repair the tub behind the fuel filler in the end?

haven't started on the car as yet hoping for better weather LOL

started the fuel filler repair an rear arch inner repair






got my new roof started prepping it

just a quick up date go a garage now so the car is out of the rain LOL
started removing the under seal to find more rust i'll let the photo's do the talking






started to weld in some new metal but then ran out of MIG gas and ran out of petrol of the Generator long ting LOL

Awesome! Good to see my brothers old car is getting sorted! Looks good so far mate, some of your pics aren't working properly on Photobucket, would be interested to see how far you have got! Keep going though, will be worth it when its done!
