Brookster nice job there. Can I ask is there any specific reason why your using an ABF bottom end and KR top or is this just what you had to hand?

i like the ABF Bottom end with Crank Sensor & Knock sensors already fitted,  plus the 159mm rod length design etc. Plus higher compression with KR Head.

Also you can find lower mileage ones the one in my MK1 only has 15k on it.  It only had 1000miles on it when i got it 10 years ago.

i'll be fitting TB's soon too so will be using all the ancilliaries already fitted.

Hey up, I remember you from the old Squinting cat club GTi meet.
Back in the day when Alan (and then me) and Mick Clements ran it.

Nice to see you still have the same car, I always liked it  :D

Old 2.0L 16V Taken out to strip tomorrow nite and take everything off to use on the 2.1L 16V.
Hard work taking an engine out on your own in the rain.

and into the workshop ready to strip

Need to get the flywheel lightened anybody know who does them arround Yorkshire ? Can't get in touch with HotGolf

ABF Block just collected from Hindles @ Bradford Engine re-man co.

83.5mm Bore

Just ordered the Badger5 45mm DTH Throttle body set up from Bill.

So the Injection set - up will be

Microsquirt
Badger5 45mm DTH Throttle body set up.

Fitting the water pump and Alternator bracket and side engine mount from the old block.

Also transferred the twin Oil cooler set - up, the Water cooled Oil Cooler and the sandwhich plate for the Mocal 12 row cooler which has build in Thermostat so keep everything at the correct temperature. Run this set- up for the last ten years and works very well.

Requires a remote Oil filter set -up due to the limited space between the block and the front panel.
